Ever go on vacation and pack on the pounds? Why is it necessary to forget about your fitness routine the minute you land at your vacation destination? Recently I went away with the family. While enjoying ourselves to the fullest I couldn’t help myself from doing what I often do…..people watch. Ok, we were on a cruise and yes cruises have the reputation for providing food 24/7 but why is it necessary to overindulge?
I made it a point to have fun while sticking to my health & fitness schedule. Maybe a glass of wine or two over the norm was consumed (after all it was vacation) however a daily workout was done.
Whether it was running on deck (awesome) or bike riding with the kids at port, some form of physical activity was completed. Although the food was amazing and everything from fried fish to French fries was offered, so were grilled fish and veggies. I opted to stay away from the fried goods and stick to the fresh. I chose to indulge in the amazing deserts offered at dinner with a spoonful taste and opted for balance once again. It can be done and why not? Give it a try…have some fit fun next time you land at your vacation destination
